Mouse IL-18

A pro-inflammatory cytokine that plays a key role in epithelial barrier repair and the activation of T-helper 1 (Th1) cells and natural killer (NK) cells. IL-18 signals through a receptor complex formed by IL18R1 and IL18RAP, activating NF-kappa-B and promoting the synthesis of inflammatory mediators. It works synergistically with IL-12 to enhance interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) production from Th1 cells and NK cells. Additionally, IL-18 is released during pyroptosis, a form of cell death, further contributing to inflammation.
